Pictou1Pre AGM Highlights :: June 11-16

Your first stop will be historic Pictou County, Nova Scotia.

June 11 and 12 you will see some of the best Angus heifers the Maritimes have as you take part in the Maritime Angus Association Junior Heifer Show and Field Day.

After the food, fun and fellowship of our traditional June Field Day and some good old Pictou County hospitality - meander on over to Prince Edward and return to the mainland by way of the Confederation Bridge and New Brunswick to ‘Wander the Waterfront’ of Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 17, 2010 for the first day of the 104th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Angus Association.

Tours & Meetings :: June 17-18

For those who have meeting responsibilities you will find yourself in the Westin with all the ambiance of an old CN hotel upgraded to the standards of the best 5 star hotels to be found (every room has ‘open able windows’ to the great outdoors!)

Those who have the luxury of ‘being along for the ride’ will have the opportunity to explore the multitude of ‘things to do in Halifax' - from climbing up Citadel Hill - to watching crystal glass being blown by mouth - to touring the city in the Harbour Hopper. Many other tour options are available including a tour of the Halifax Public Gardens or a round of golf at the Brookfield Golf & Country Club.

At the end of Thursday there will be the traditional President’s Reception - except this year it will be an invitation only event due to limited capacity.

For the meeting focused crew Friday will bring another day of  deliberations. The rest will be able to join our kilted tour guides on a tour of the Annapolis Valley, including 2 wineries, a cheese making operation, a lobster pound, a meal overlooking the highest tides in the world and a visit to the Grand Pre National Historic Site and the story of Evangeline. Then back to the Westin and off to an evening of lobster, east coast music and fun at Murphy's on the Water.
